Responsible Retailing. Safer Communities

The California Tobacco Prevention Program aims to end the commercial tobacco epidemic by achieving a tobacco-free California by 2035, which includes the long-term goal of ending the sale of all commercial tobacco products in the state. Eden Youth is currently working on updating local jurisdictions' Tobacco Retail License Ordinances to include provisions that make it more comprehensive.

Union City passed a more comprehensive Tobacco Retail License in 2024
Newark passed their first-ever Tobacco Retail License ordinance in 2024, making it the final city in Alameda County to do so
Oakland passed a Smoke-Free Bar Patios/Smoke-Free Multi-Unit Housing Ordinance in 2024
