Eden Youth ("Eden Youth," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information we collect through our website, online forms, program registrations, event sign-ups, youth and family services, community outreach, referrals, phone calls, emails, and SMS/text messaging communications.
This Privacy Policy explains how Eden Youth collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains personal information. It also explains privacy choices available to individuals who interact with us, including California residents.
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through:
Eden Youth website;

SMS/Text Messaging Privacy Statement
Eden Youth uses SMS/text messaging for one-to-one, service-related, program-related, event-related, referral-related, wellness-related, administrative, and community support communications.
Examples of SMS/text messages may include:
Appointment reminders;
Event reminders;
Program participation updates;
Resource and referral follow-up;
Community Connect membership follow-up;
Youth or family program coordination;
School-linked or partner-referred follow-up;
Responses to questions you send us;
Intake, eligibility, or service coordination follow-up;
Administrative updates; and
Other direct communications related to Eden Youth programs, services, or community support.
Mobile opt-in information won't be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Eden Youth does not sell, rent, or share SMS opt-in information, mobile phone numbers, or text messaging consent records with third parties or affiliates for their marketing, promotional, advertising, or lead-generation purposes.
Eden Youth may use service providers, telecommunications providers, platform providers, software vendors, phone companies, or other vendors solely as needed to deliver, route, manage, secure, document, and support SMS/text messaging. These providers are not authorized to use SMS opt-in information for their own marketing purposes.
No Bulk Marketing or Automated Promotional SMS
Eden Youth's SMS/text messaging program is intended for direct, one-to-one communication between Eden Youth staff and individuals who have provided their phone number or otherwise communicated with Eden Youth. Messages are manually initiated and sent by individual Eden Youth staff members.
Eden Youth does not use Microsoft Teams SMS for:
Bulk marketing;
Mass promotional texting;
Spam;
Automated advertising campaigns;
Purchased contact lists;
Third-party lead generation;
API-driven marketing messages;
Political campaign messaging;
Unrelated commercial advertising; or
Messaging unrelated to Eden Youth programs, services, referrals, events, outreach, or direct community support.
SMS Consent and Opt-In
You may opt in to receive SMS/text messages from Eden Youth by:
Providing your mobile phone number on an Eden Youth form;
Checking an SMS consent box on an online or paper form;
Signing up for an Eden Youth program, event, service, or Community Connect membership;
Providing your number at an Eden Youth outreach table, resource fair, program, or community event;
Asking Eden Youth staff to communicate with you by text;
Texting Eden Youth first;
Giving verbal permission to receive texts; or
Otherwise providing clear consent where required.
By opting in, you authorize Eden Youth to send text messages to the mobile number you provided for the purposes described at the time of opt-in or in this Privacy Policy.
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive SMS/text messages is not a condition of receiving services, unless SMS is necessary to provide a specific communication or service you requested.
SMS Help and Opt-Out
You may opt out of SMS/text messages at any time by replying:
STOP - to unsubscribe or opt out
HELP - to request help
After you reply STOP, Eden Youth may send one final confirmation text confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that, Eden Youth will not send further SMS/text messages to that number unless you opt in again or otherwise request text communication.

Eden Youth does not sell, rent, or share SMS opt-in information, mobile phone numbers, or text messaging consent information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS information may be shared only when necessary to:
Provide communication services through approved technology providers
Respond to your request for support or services
Comply with legal, regulatory, or safety obligations
Protect the rights, safety, or operations of Eden Youth , its staff, participants, or community members
Any service providers used to support SMS communication are expected to protect information and use it only for the purpose of providing communication services.

Eden Youth takes reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect SMS-related information from unauthorized access, disclosure, misuse, or loss.
Because SMS text messaging is not always a fully secure communication method, individuals should avoid sending highly sensitive personal, medical, financial, or emergency information by text message. If urgent assistance is needed, individuals should call 911 or contact the appropriate emergency service.
Data Retention
Eden Youth retains personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, contract, grant, audit, insurance, accounting, reporting, dispute resolution, program administration, safety, or legitimate organizational needs.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, purpose for collection, legal requirements, school or district requirements, funder requirements, and program requirements.
SMS opt-in and opt-out records may be retained as needed to document consent, comply with messaging requirements, honor opt-out requests, resolve disputes, and maintain compliance
Children and Youth Communications
Eden Youth serves youth, families, and community members. SMS communication involving youth is used for appropriate program, service, event, resource, or support-related purposes. When required, Eden Youth may obtain consent from a parent, guardian, or other authorized person for youth-related communication.
Eden Youth may provide programs and services involving children, youth, students, parents, guardians, caregivers, schools, and school districts. Eden Youth takes youth privacy seriously.
Eden Youth collects youth or student information only when appropriate for a program, service, referral, safety purpose, school-linked service, reporting obligation, or legal requirement.
Eden Youth does not knowingly sell personal information of children or youth. Eden Youth does not share mobile opt-in information of children, youth, parents, guardians, or families with third parties for marketing purposes.
When Eden Youth works with schools, school districts, or education partners, Eden Youth will follow applicable contract requirements, district privacy requirements, and applicable student privacy laws.
