Hayward Rides Program

The Hayward Rides Program:

is funded through the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Clean Mobility in Schools and Equity in Sustainable Transportation Project. The City of Hayward launched Hayward Rides to provide residents with access to free bicycles, making cycling a more accessible, affordable, and sustainable transportation option. The program is implemented in collaboration with Eden Youth and Bike East Bay.

Hayward Rides is one of the largest municipal bike programs in the country and focuses on supporting youth, families, and residents, particularly those from low-income and historically underserved communities by providing bicycles, essential safety equipment, and bike education.

The program also creates opportunities for residents and families to participate in community advocacy, bike education, and group rides hosted in partnership with the City of Hayward, Bike East Bay, and Bike Hayward
